clay cast in plaster

In Hebrew mythology and faith mankind is fashioned from clay and the divine breathes life into clay. This is an archetypal narrative common to the Abrahamic Jewish, Moslem, Christian and many other cultures. In Jewish mythology Golem is fashioned out of clay from a river bed by a Rabi and a text is placed in his mouth animating him into being. Golem is ambiguous in that this sub human parody of the original creation of Adam is both an aid and a threat to the vulnerability of being Jewish.
